Fun Times With Bearzy

My birthday weekend was fast approaching and I still had no plans. I was up late checking out Color Magazine's website and read that the Zero premiere was this weekend! So I was off to Vancouver.

I got to Bearzy's late Saturday night. I walked in to the delicious smell of a home-cooked meal. It turns out that Bearzy and his roommates decided to celebrate Thanksgiving even though none of them are American. Lucky for me there were plenty of leftovers.

After dinner we played dominos for hours. I had no idea how much fun that game is! I'll definitely be dusting off the old domino set back in Whistler.

At 3am, after dominos and some drinks, the boys decided we should take some portraits out in front of the house. Here's what we came up with:

From top to bottom: Dave, Mike and Bearzy.

Ghetto dice.

The next day me and Bearzy went out to shoot some lifestyle skate shots.

These trees are rad!

Bearzy. Sick facial hair!

My first time skating in 3 months! Bombing a hill!

This cat was missing half of its tail!

This is my favourite shot of the weekend.

Before leaving the school we played on the tire swing.

I thought Bearzy was going to be sick after this spinner!

I love tire swings!

At night we checkout out Zero's premiere of "Strange World". Here are some photos of the event courtesy of The Billionaire and Color Magazine:

Color Magazine's Skate and Deploy - Full Edit

Finally! Here is the full edit of Color Magazine's Skate and Deploy. The comp was held in underground parking below the Telus Conference Centre in Whistler. You can also find the video among other rad content at www.colormagazine.ca. Filmed and edited by Ryan Kenny.

Color Magazine's Skate and Deploy

The Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival kicked off today under the Conference Centre with Color Magazine's Skate and Deploy. Pros and ams from both Vancouver and Whistler put on a show and kept the local crowd stoked all afternoon.

The heats, semi's and finals along with the best trick car jam and highest wallride provided an ample supply of bangers from the likes of Paul Machnau, Dustin Montie, Chris Connelly, Adam Hopkins, Jorden Murray, Sheldon Meleshinski, Nate Lacoste, P-Nut, and more.

Adam Hopkins with a fs melon on the quarter.

Chris Connelly boosting a HUGE melon onto the hood of the car. This is attempt #16.

Jorden Murray with one of the highest wallride gaps of the afternoon.

Great skating and a flash car riot made for one of the best skate comps in years and the best opening for the WSSF EVER! With a start like this, we can't help but be hopeful for the coming week.

Here is a small preview of what is to come from the footage.
